Our much loved annual 1940s Weekend is back for 2025. Join us on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd August for a unique opportunity to explore our history and experience the period in person.

Two vintage steam trains will be running services across the weekend to transport you back in time to engage with many historical displays and demonstrations. There will be multiple period-appropriate vehicles on display and interactive exhibits that showcase life during this era. A live firepower demonstration at Dereham Station showcasing various period firearms is not to be missed!
Day Rover tickets provide access to all displays across the line as well as unlimited travel between Dereham and Wymondham Abbey. There will be an admission fee to access the displays & stalls at Dereham station & the display area adjacent to Wymondham Abbey Halt - please note this is a one-off cost which gains you access to both ends, but not access to the steam trains. A FREE vintage bus service will also be provided between Wymondham mainline station and Wymondham Abbey Halt to allow visitors to travel to and from our event.

Tickets can be bought at either Dereham or Wymondham Abbey station, if you are boarding at either Yaxham, Thuxton or Kimberley Park tickets can be bought on the train.

The Mid-Norfolk Railway also reserves the right to not serve alcohol to anyone it believes is below 18 years old, no refund will be made in this case. The Mid-Norfolk Railway will not tolerate any abuse or violence towards its staff members at any time.
