    The Mid-Norfolk Railway is the longest heritage railway in East Anglia, with 17.5 miles of track bed and 11 miles in regular usage, it is a chance to step back in time and experience the golden era of railways.

    Enjoy a historic steam or diesel train ride through the 'bootiful' Norfolk countryside. The views from the train are picturesque and offer varying views through the seasons.

    The MNR normally runs between Dereham and Wymondham. Explore these charming market towns, each with their unique characteristics and attractions.
     

  4. Dereham railway station
    Visit the gift shop with a range of railway-themed souvenirs or the nostalgic tea room which has delightful treats to savour or the museum that's filled with exhibits or the second-hand shop with bargains to find.
     

  5. County School railway station
    Visit the beautifully-preserved station (not yet connected to the rest of the railway) that has been restored to its heydays of British Railways. At selected weekends, the tea room serves a variety of light refreshments. The station is the home of the Wensum Valley Miniature Railway.

    Hop aboard our special dining trains to enjoy delicious meals served at your seat as you ride through the countryside.

    Working with local theatrical groups to produce on-train entertainment with Alice on the WondertrainMurder Mysteries and The Polar Express™ Train Ride.

    Ever dreamed of being a train driver? The railway offers you the opportunity to take control of diesel and steam locomotives with a variety of options to suit you.

    Your visit directly supports The Mid-Norfolk Railway Preservation Trust's charitable aims of renovating & restoring the Great Eastern Railway line's buildings, stations, trackwork, signalling and rolling stock for public education and tourism.
